Due to the prevalence of positive cases of HPAI/H5N1 or “bird flu” being found in wild birds all over NC, and for the protection of our birds at the sanctuary, as well as to protect the backyard flocks of our volunteers and the general public, we will be closed for visitation/walkarounds until end of March. Donations and injured birds can still be dropped off as usual.

We need your help

Let's give each bird a "Chance to Soar Once More"
From the smallest hummingbird to the giant pelican, no bird in need is ever turned away. Birds receive medical care, food, safety, and rehabilitation until they can be placed in protected sanctuaries or returned back to the wild for “a chance to soar once more”. SkyWatch Bird Rescue exists on donations from the community and on the support of our team of excellent volunteers. Donations pay for all of the rescue’s needs, including vet bills, medications, housing, transportation, food, and supplies. A combined time investment of approximately 140 hours per week is given from our group of volunteers and the director to help keep the rescue efforts going.
